“What can we do? … We can offer what little we have. We certainly have a few hours of time, some talent, some expertise.” - Pope Francis (July 26, 2015)
Our Society has two goals: to help those in need in the name of Jesus Christ and to do spiritual good for our members through charitable works. We help others, and by doing so help ourselves.
Members are asked to help with monthly collections, home visits, home visit coordination, and phone handling. Some help consistently, some occasionally. There are many needs and the needs continue to grow. We need individuals who are willing to go into the homes of the poor. We need organized leaders who can take calls and coordinate operations. And, we need prayer warriors, who will help us all as we do our important work. No one ever has to give more than they can, and sometimes a little help is what makes a tremendous difference.
Meetings are held on the second Monday of each month, at 6:30 at St. Patricks of Merna Church in Bloomington, IL. Here, we’ll open with a prayer, have spiritual enrichment, and discuss business as it relates to our service. Meetings are lovely and helpful to fulfill the complete mission of the ministry.
